More Great Input Received at June 8, 2010 Community Advisory Committee Meetings

On June 8, the Downtown Neighborhoods Community Advisory Committee and the Fulton Corridor Specific Plan Community Advisory Committee convened to discuss the results of the May 10 – 15 Downtown Neighborhoods Charrette.  Click here to see Charrette Catalog.  The goal of the meetings was for the Committees and the public to 1) comment on the work that was produced at the Charrette and 2) provide suggestions and recommendations for what they would like to see incorporated in the Draft Downtown Neighborhoods Community Plan and the Draft Fulton Corridor Specific Plan.

Following is a summary of the comments and suggestions that were made at the two meetings:

Come Give Your Input on the Downtown Neighborhoods Plan on June 8, 2010

Come join a discussion about the work that was generated during the May 10-15 Downtown Neighborhoods Charrette - a week-long visioning and design effort in which the 20-member consultant team worked with over 230 members of the community to establish preliminary transportation, economic development, historic preservation, landscape, open space, and new development policies for Downtown's neighborhoods.  The Fulton Corridor Specific Plan and Downtown Neighborhoods Community Advisory Committee meetings will provide an important opportunity for you to tell us what you like or do not like about the Charrette findings - what might have been missed, or what should be included or not included.  Click here to see the Charrette Catalog that shows the drawings, maps, diagrams, and policy recommendations that were generated during the Charrette.

Downtown Neighborhoods Visioning and Design Effort a Great Success

The Downtown Neighborhoods planning effort was a great success.  Over 230 members of the Community attended a series of public meetings in which residents, business, owners, and community leaders provided input regarding what they would like to see in their neighborhoods, and by extension, incorporated into the Downtown Neighborhoods Community Plan.  For a list of participants, click "Read More" below.

During the week-long visioning and design effort, the 20 person consultant team translated the information collected over the past few months into transportation, economic development, historic preservation, landscape, open space, and new development policies.  These consist of general policies that apply to the entire plan area as well as specific policies that are tailored to each portion of the plan area: Jane Addams, Southwest Fresno, Southeast Fresno, Lowell, Jefferson, Downtown, and the South Van Ness Industrial area.  Click here to see Charrette Catalog.

Thanks for your participation in the Downtown Neighborhoods Community Plan Charrette!
